Clear by default
A short, human privacy summary.
SHEIN Coupons by Gil uses minimal anonymous product events to understand installations and reliability. Separate per-code diagnostics remain off unless you enable them.
What is measured
Small events, not personal profiles
The service may receive the following limited information:
- Anonymous installation ID The random ID stays in Chrome storage; only its one-way SHA-256 hash is sent.
- Lifecycle events Install, update, heartbeat, coupon run, and coupon success.
- Basic environment Interface language, platform category, and SHEIN market.
- Aggregate coupon activity Run and success events without a coupon ID, code text, cart value, or checkout total.
Exact fields in every minimal event
A random event ID; event type; one-way installation hash; event time; extension version; coarse language and platform; and, when available, the two-letter or GLOBAL SHEIN market.
These events support install counts, active-install metrics, product usage, and reliability monitoring.
Separate and optional
Per-code reliability reporting is off by default
If you enable “Share anonymous reliability results” in extension settings, a separate report helps identify working and dead coupon records. This optional report is not part of the always-on aggregate events.
It contains coupon ID, market, success/failure/error result, extension version, selector version, observed time, and a random idempotency key. It does not contain the installation hash, coupon text, cart, products, account, or checkout total.
Retention and network privacy
Raw events expire; a minimal aggregate remains
Raw always-on analytics event rows are retained for up to 365 days.
A minimal installation aggregate is retained for lifetime installation and active-install counts. It contains the installation hash, first installation and activity times, last activity time, and the latest coarse version, language, platform, and market.
The public proxy may use a client IP address transiently in memory for abuse and rate limiting. Analytics access logging is disabled, the proxy does not forward the address, and no IP address is stored in the analytics database. The application also limits requests using the validated installation hash.
Outside the scope
What we do not collect
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or account credentials.
- Shipping addresses or payment information.
- Cart contents, product names, or individual checkout totals.
- General browsing history or activity outside supported SHEIN pages.
Your control
Simple boundaries
The extension runs coupon checks only after you select its action at checkout. You can disable or remove it at any time through Chrome’s Extensions page. Removing it stops future extension check-ins from that installation.
